Provision for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

At Bramley St Peter’s we believe in the uniqueness of every child and seek to offer all children a broad and balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum which provides consistency and continuity of teaching throughout the school. We have high expectations of all children and will seek to put support in place, when needed, at the earliest possible stage.

We recognise that children have a range of needs such as learning difficulties, social and emotional difficulties and physical difficulties and that their needs may change over time. We work hard in partnership with our pupils, parents, carers and other professionals to meet those needs.

Our provision is detailed below but if you would like to speak to someone in more detail about your child, please ring school on 0113 2559680 and speak to our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENDCO), Miss Crathorne, or our Assistant SENDCO, Ms Akhondi.

Please note information about our complaints procedure is within our SEND policy.

Our 'local offer' document details the ways we support children with additional needs.

Support for SEND families during Covid 19 School Closure

Bramley St Peter's SEND email contact

I have set up an email address if any of our SEND families need to contact the SEND team. The email address is:

Please get in touch if you need any support or advice. I will try to respond as soon as I am able to, but please be aware that my response might not be immediate.

Thank you,

Lucy Crathorne

Support during school closure

If your child was not in school at the end of last week, there is a learning pack in school allocated for them, created by their class teacher. Please feel free to come and collect these from the office to further support your child at this time. These can also be downloaded from your class year group page.

Thank you,

Lucy Crathorne

Support from the Leeds Local Offer for SEND families across the authority

Dear families,

If you have any questions and need any support at this time, the local authority have added some advice on the Leeds Local Offer page. It includes the following:

  • Support for children's mental wellbeing at this time
  • Support materials from Mindmate - tips on Mindfulness, relaxation, eating healthily and exercising
  • Information for parents of children with an EHCP or awaiting an EHCP
  •  A social story to support children's understanding of self isolation
  •  Access to the National Autistic Society resources.

The website can be accessed using the link here!/search/list?query=COVID19

I hope that you find this useful.

Stay safe everyone,

Lucy Crathorne

Social Stories

I hope everyone is keeping well and safe. I have attached a link that will take you to some other social stories that may be of use at this time to support children at home during the current situation. I hope that they help. Please get in touch, on the email address I have provided, if you have any questions or concerns about supporting your child at home through all of this.
