Applying for a role within school

At Bramley St Peter’s we are committed to ensuring a safe, child centred environment for all our children. One of the ways in which we achieve this is by making sure that the school recruits new staff in a safe way and then monitors the behaviours and attitudes of staff closely once they are in school. When seeking to employ new members at staff, at any level within school, we apply strict safeguarding parameters.  These can be found in our safer recruitment policy.

Shortlisting - We do not respond to every application.  If you have not been contacted with an invite to interview within 48hrs of the closing date, then unfortunatley you have not been shortlisted.

Enhanced DBS

Bramley St Peter’s Church of England Primary School is committed to safeguarding children. We expect all staff to share this commitment and any successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check. All new Leeds City Council appointments are made subject to satisfactory completion of a six-month probationary period.

SEMH teacher

Full time and permanent

MPS/UPS + SEN 1 allowance depending on experience in line with our pay policy

From September 2025 the Governing Board of Bramley St Peter’s wish to appoint an inspiring and dedicated teacher to join our friendly and inclusive Church of England Primary School. This role would not be appropriate for ECTs.

We are in the process of creating a provision within school focusing on meeting the SEMH needs of identified pupils from within school. This would be a bespoke provision and the person would deploy the team of Behaviour Mentors, in an exciting development within our school provision.

Bramley St. Peter’s is committed to enabling all pupils to succeed in learning and life and overcome any barriers and difficulties which may hinder this. We have a strong ethos linked to a nurturing and a holistic approach to the learning journey and development of every child. We value a strong working partnership with parents and carers, to support children reaching their true potential and achieving their best outcomes.

We would like a teacher to join our dedicated team who is:

  • Able to build positive and professional relationships with children who display a wide range of needs.
  • Able to respond effectively to the more individualised approach needed for children with SEMH in interpreting and fulfilling their personalised plans.
  • Skilled in planning creatively, thematically and effectively so that learners are fully engaged and enjoy their learning journey, aspiring to do their best to be their best.
  • Committed to creating and maintaining an inclusive ethos and positive climate for behaviour and learning – wherever this takes place.
  • A calming influence to situations where others may be heightened.
  • A lifelong learner and is committed to developing themselves and others both working 'under your own steam' and working collaboratively as part of the wider school team.
  • Able to form positive relationships with the whole school community and work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Able to manage their time effectively and prioritise tasks well.
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Able to contribute to whole school community activities and events.

We will offer the successful candidate a warm welcoming and friendly school, supportive colleagues and Governing Board, children who are securely developing a love of learning and the opportunity to continue your own professional development journey both within school and within the partnerships that Bramley St. Peter’s has with other schools and settings.
