Summer 2: Fairy Tales
Who’s afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?
Displays this half term in Nursery
The children have enjoyed listening to fairy tales and acting them out too!
Summer 1: Minibeasts
Are Minibeasts all scary?
Watching the lifecycle of a butterfly.
We have been reading the story ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ by Eric Carle. The children enjoyed watching real caterpillars grow bigger and bigger in the Nursery classroom. They then saw them build their chrysalises, and begin to wriggle about if they were moved, so we had to be very careful. The children excitedly watched them emerge as butterflies after a couple of weeks 🦋 and then after a few days we set them free in the Nursery garden.

Fireworks!
The children scooped small balls out of cups of paint and dropped them onto a piece of black card in a tray. They had to tip the tray in different directions to spread the paint. They then sprinkled glitter onto their fireworks to create amazing pictures.
