Autumn 1
Our topic this term is Incredible Me!
Our big question is Who am I?
In English we will read a wide range of exciting texts. Here are some of the books we are enjoying. We will think about what it means to be unique.
In maths we are focusing on securing our sorting skills and our recognition and counting skills within 10.
In geography we are exploring our local area and beginning to develop our fieldwork skills. We walked along Hough Lane and began to notice physical and human features of Bramley.
In DT we had a tasty time. We learnt the difference between fruit and vegetables and enjoyed creating smoothies and evaluating them.
We are lucky to have Scrap Shed in our playground. Using the recycled materials we got creative by building, rolling, imagining and playing around. Can you spot the astronauts in the rocket, the volleyball net, the den and the computer programmer?
Today it was very exciting in 1PC as the children stumbled across a vegetable crime scene. They took on the role of detectives and created wanted posters to try to discover the hiding place of Evil Pea. The search continues!
Today we were celebrating diversity and achievements by learning about Dr Maggie Adern-Pocock. Dr Maggie has a PhD in physics and is passionate about sharing her knowledge about space science. She encourages everyone to “dream big.”
In RE we have been learning about how different communities show love and care for one another. We walked to Bramley St Peter's church and Pastor Julia performed a "mock" wedding. She talked to us about the meaning of the vows and rings in a traditional Christian wedding.
