  • NUT FREE SCHOOL

    Mon 19 Feb 2024

Dear Parents and Carers, Welcome back to a new half term. There will be further updates in due course but this is an important announcement. With immediate effect we are becoming a 'nut free' school. This means that children should not be bringing anything into school with nuts in e.g. peanut butter sandwich. This is especially important if your child is on packed lunches. We have children in school who are allergic to nuts so this is a safety point. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. Mrs Esplin

  • Safety update

    Thu 14 Sep 2023

    Dear parents and carers,

I apologise for the time of this message being sent but I wanted to give you an update following today's events. Firstly I recognise that that today there has been worry and anxiety caused by the news shared. It is not what any of us wanted.

In school we have robust security and safeguarding procedures already in place. Today these were tightened even more and this will continue tomorrow and into next week as a precaution. You may have seen in the news that the Police have been involved with the schools who received the e-mail threat directly. The update that I have received tonight from Yorkshire Police via Leeds City Council is that an investigation has been commenced into a 'potential malicious communications offence' and an arrest has now been made.

I also want to note that many of the rumours I have been told about circulating on social media are simply false. Please be careful about getting 'caught up' in these.

I want to reassure you again that school is safe and we will be open as normal tomorrow with heightened safety measures in place again as a precaution.

We look forward to seeing you in the morning.

    Mrs Esplin
