Multiplication in Year 2
In Year 2 it is important that children know their 2, 5, and 10 times tables.
The BBC Bitesize website has some great maths lessons to support with this. Click on the links below to practise your times tables. Each page has a video to watch and then activities to complete underneath (they look like another video but have a hand symbol in the bottom left corner).

Some children will be also be able to work out related division facts. For example:
Your child might know that 7 × 5 = 35.
From this, they can work out related division facts: 35 ÷ 7 = 5 and 35 ÷ 5 = 7
Children will solve multiplication and division problems using the 2, 5, and 10 times tables. They will be expected to correctly use the symbols ‘×’, ‘÷’ and ‘=’ to record calculations.
