In our first half term, 5CC have read the following books:

 

English

This half term we have been writing setting descriptions. To support this learning, we looked closely at a landscape picture and recorded our thoughts about it.

To further support our descriptive writing, we took a morning walk around Bramley Park, paying careful attention to the sights, sounds and smells we experienced.

Viking field trip - Jorvik

 

As part of our Viking topic, 'Ruthless killers or peaceful settlers?', Year 5 went on a trip to Jorvik in order to find out about Viking life in Britain during the time of the Vikings. The children learnt about Viking clothes, houses, games and food and we became archaeologists digging for artefacts. They also listened to some Viking sagas and participated in some drama.
