In English this half term so far we have written biographies on Queen Victoria. We have also learnt all about workhouses during the Victorian era as we have been writing non-chronological reports from the perspective of someone in the workhouse to someone who has just entered; we loved learning Victorian slang and applying it to our writing. Take a look at some examples below.
Maths
In Maths this term we have been learning all about fractions including: simplifying them, finding equivalent fractions, comparing, ordering and also adding and subtracting fractions with different denominators and those as mixed numbers!!
Topic
We are loving learning all about the Victorians! So far we have placed the Victorian era on a timeline; analysed sources to infer what Victorian schooling was like and then we produced our own knowledge organisers; learnt about some differences between the rich and poor and explored what kind of jobs children were forced to do.
