HOLIDAY HOMEWORK

As part of our Young Leaders Award this week, 6HC have become ambassadors for their chosen charity. Children are working in pairs or threes to research and deliver a three minute presentation on the charity they have chosen to find out about. Over the holiday they will need to create their presentation, this can be in their chosen format such as: Powerpoint or a poster. 

Each child will be bringing home three revision booklets to support them in the run up to SATs. Please try and support your child in completing at least thirty minutes of revision during the weeks over the holidays.

Thursday - This week we need to learn the definitions for the following grammatical terms:

Contraction

Article

Subject and Object

Phrase 

Clause

Main Clause

for a test on Wednesday. 

Spring 2 Week 1

Thursday - This week we need to learn the definitions for the following grammatical terms:

* Adverb clause

* Conjunction

* Connectives

* Prefixes

* Suffixes

* Preposition

* Contraction 

in preparation for the test on Wednesday. 

Wednesday - Children need to learn the definitions for any of the grammar technical terms they did not learn over the holidays. They will be tested again on these tomorrow.

This week the children will also have Science homework in which they are required to create their own animal with a binominal name. 

As part of The Archbishop of York Youth Trust Young Leaders Award they will also be asked to complete a personal challenge and write about it.
