Hello Year 6! 

For some of you this will be your second week in school and in your 'bubbles' while others are continuing to learn from home. Each week we will upload the PowerPoints that we are using in school as home learning. Mrs DD is also posting exciting challenges on Seesaw regularly. Both her and us will be looking to see your responses to the activities so be sure to keep posting! 

Maths- Please see below for a daily Fluent in 5 and a continued focus on Algebra this week! We are developing our understanding of function machines and moving on to understanding algebraic expressions. (Remember to try your best and don't worry too much if you get a little confused at first) 

English- This week we are focusing on a short story based around a young girl called Alma. We will be working towards writing out own version of the story. Please watch the video on the following link first https://www.literacyshed.com/alma.html  

History- This half term our topic is the Greeks! Last week we looked at the 2 main city states of Athens and Sparta. This week we are going to be looking at the Battle of Marathon, the Greek alphabet and Ancient Greek pottery. Be sure to check out the information on the PowerPoints to find out more.. 

PSHE- This week we are going to start looking at your transition to your future high schools. We will be having lots of discussions and looking at different scenarios based on common worries. We will be working each day on a new page of the transition booklet - please find it attached below.  If you are not in school and have any questions or worries about transition and high school then please send us a message on Seesaw.
