At the speed of light, in Dalby Forest, we built some amazing waterproof dens. We tried to make them waterproof by using leaves from the forest floor and sticks and flexible twigs. We identified different types of trees using information given by Steve and Richard (the forest rangers).
After that we followed the gruffalo orienteering trail. Using the clues provided we were able to work our way through the challenges. This has really helped us with our map reading skills.
In the enchanted forest we found a stick which looked like a crocodile. We saw some very detailed wooden carvings of owls, castles and thrones.
After an enjoyable but exhausting day we really looked forward to returning to Cober Hill for our three course evening meal.
We are having a great time at Cober Hill. The hotel is well presented and we love our rooms, especially our comfortable beds. We have played lots of fun games. We found the birds of prey fascinating. Our favourite bird was Tiny Tim. We found lots of different coloured rocks at the beach.
From everyone at Cober Hill.
